Blog Post # 5 How Shutterfly and Other Social Sites Leave Your Kids Vulnerable to Hackers

Many social media sites are letting  children's sports teams make team accounts that allow them to share picture, addresses, and sensitive information. Shutterfly is the main website that allows teams to do this, and they claim to have a secure website. Furthermore, many people have noticed that there so called security is lacking, and many people are concerned about there children's information,  According to the article Shutterfly knows about there security problem, and is working to fix it. Also, the other websites team snap and eteams have changed there security settings and made there websites more secure. These websites could be easily hacked into and can be dangerous for children and parents at the games listed. There are a lot of these types of websites that are unprotected for hackers to get into. Anyone one that knows how to use a computer and downloads cookie cadger can access these so called secure websites. The security feature on these website is a SSL or secure sockets layer that protects information on there websites. Furthermore, many websites decided not to use this feature on every part of there website because it can be expensive.

In my opinion, this article is very scary to think about how easily it can be for people to access information. Also, that these websites that have place for children activities to be on there is not more secure. You never know who will look at a website and there needs to be more protect for children's information because they are so vulnerable. Furthermore, this makes me consider the websites I use and I will definitely be checking the security from now on.
